To me, painting is the big romance of life
To me, painting is always a guide, a way to be in touch with the life in me and what surrounds me. I
love to dive into this life that is full of light, energy en movement, to swim in it.
This is also the reason why my paintings are always closely tied to nature.
Nature is my resource. I love to be united with nature.
When I paint a tree, I identify with the tree.
When I paint a rock, I identify with the rock.
Painting has always been my reference in regard of life.
Everything is visible in a work: strength or weakness, intuition or ratio, the real or the artificial.
It pushes me forward to dig deeper and deeper, far underneath the visible.
It connects me to the heart of life. It is my meditation, it is my self.
By painting I aspire to go forward and to unite all the parts of my life, to be united with everything.
